Alberta
During your walk-through, you will receive a pamphlet from the warranty provider Alberta New Home Warranty Program outlining the warranty coverage for defects on construction materials and labour.
The warranty coverage begins the day you take possession of your new home (the Possession Date).
A Warranty Commencement Date Certificate will be completed during the key handover. At that time, you will be given a copy of the walk-through for your records and a copy will be sent to the warranty provider to register your suite. Once your suite is registered, the applicable warranty provider will send you the Warranty Certificate outlining the Homeowner’s Policy.

British Columbia
