It is that time of year, rainy season! We have been finding that we are getting more questions about the flood areas and thought we would re-share a blog post from last year along with link to the interactive City of Calgary Flood/Fringe Maps.
Re-post from October 2013:
Flood Zone Confusion
In the wake of last June’s flood disaster there has been a lot of talk about flood zones. The concerns for a number of Calgary homeowners are very real as this recent Herald article “Homeowners in floodway zone face tough decision” points out.
At Bucci we have received a handful of calls from purchasers, mortgage brokers and insurance companies with questions about both of our new condo project’s and their respective exposure to future flooding. Obviously there is some confusion about where our two current projects, Tribeca in Mission and VEN in Kensington, are located as it relates to the flood zones and maps indicating high risk areas. To help clarify that both sites remained completely dry during the flood disaster and are not located in floodways we provide the following maps and links from the city of Calgary (City Flood Fringe maps Here) and Province of Alberta.
